Meet The Principal designer & founder

MARIE-JOE BOUFFARD

If you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be? "Bold.”

Founder of JFY Designs, Marie-Joe combines a distinct passion for interior design with an extraordinary devotion to her work and clients. Her creativity and infectious personality coupled with a determination to deliver beautiful spaces that uniquely reflect her clients’ styles, needs, and stories are just a few of the many qualities that have led to a long and continuously growing career in luxury residential interiors.

Marie-Joe’s personal aesthetic and style is heavily influenced by the city, family, and culture in which she was raised. Originally from Quebec City, she loves to spice up traditional rooms with modern touches and vice versa. Describing the influence her roots have on her personal taste, Marie-Joe explains, “I come from a family who loves to entertain and come together for endless meals. To me, home is a place where you can welcome friends and family, gather together but also live well every day.”

Marie-Joe started her career working in the publishing industry, an experience she believes helped to develop her eye for design. From editor-in-chief of a magazine to a simple word-of-mouth start in faux finishes and interiors, Marie-Joe has since grown her business into a full-service design company. In 2002, she took the leap to establish JFY Designs, and you can now see her work across Middle Tennessee’s most elite luxury communities and homes.

When she is not officially working, you can still find Marie-Joe in search of inspiration. She describes, “I find my work exhilarating therefore it can sort of consume me. I am always discovering new sources of inspiration through travel, food and even fashion.” Some other favorite pastimes include cheering her kids on the soccer field, curling up with a book and her doodles, Fitz and Mousse, and entertaining with her husband as they gather friends at their dining room table “to share a meal and attempt to fix all of the world’s problems.”
