When Did Sheep Become the New Decor Status Symbol? Designers Weigh In
Designers have been loving these woolly sculptures for decades.
If you’ve been noticing an odd number of sheep in recent home interior projects, you’re not going crazy—we’ve seen them too. Here at House Beautiful, we have the opportunity to look through many different homes, thus spotting what products, finishes, silhouettes, and themes show up repeatedly, and sheep sculptures (specifically one notable style) are one of the latest trends we’ve seen pop up.
In our 2025 Whole Home project, designer Kathy Kuo placed one of these fluffy statues in the primary suite and again featured it at an event in Manhattan that she held with UrbanStems to celebrate their collaboration. Designer Marie-Joe Bouffard of JFY Designs, whose Nashville project we featured in our November/December 2025 issue, housed a woolly ewe in the playroom of the home.
However, this isn’t the first time these sheep sculptures have been showing up in interiors. While they may be popping up in the mainstream, they’re surprisingly more timeless than trendy.
